This Privacy Policy explains how Zowrk (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website, dashboard, and related services (the “Services”). It applies to freelancers using Zowrk to run their business and to clients who receive payment links or purchase from a Zowrk storefront.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash).
- Identity information — your BVN (Bank Verification Number), if you choose to verify your identity for withdrawals.
- Payment & transaction data — payment amounts, references, payout balances, and withdrawal history. Card details are handled entirely by Paystack — we do not store full card numbers.
- Business information — the services, products, and payment links you create; client names and emails you provide; and your bank account details for payouts.
- Usage data — pages visited, actions taken, device type, browser, and IP address, collected to keep the Services secure and working properly.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Operate your account and deliver the Services.
- Process payments and credit earnings to your balance.
- Verify your identity before allowing fund withdrawals.
- Send transactional emails — receipts, payment confirmations, account notices, and withdrawal updates.
- Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the platform.
- Improve and develop the Services based on how they are used.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
3. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Paystack — to process payments and payouts. Paystack operates under its own Privacy Policy.
- Identity verification provider — your BVN is shared with a verification service solely to confirm your identity before withdrawals are enabled.
- Infrastructure providers — hosting, database, and email delivery services that operate on our behalf under data processing agreements.
- Legal authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Zowrk or its users.
4. Data security
We take the security of your data seriously. Measures we use include encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, role-based access controls, and secure handling of sensitive identity data including BVN. No system is completely immune to risk, but we work hard to protect your information and will notify you promptly in the event of a breach that affects your data.

5. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and as long as necessary to provide the Services. After you close your account, we may keep limited records for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or audit purposes before securely deleting them. Transaction records may be retained for up to seven years to comply with financial regulations.

You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your information, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

7. Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, maintain session security, and understand how the Services are used so we can improve them. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may affect parts of the dashboard.
8. Children
Zowrk is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete the data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or via a notice in your dashboard before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
